Romanian Firefighters - Volunteers in Africa
Two firefighters - rescuers within the Arad Squad, first sergeant Coşarbă Petru and first sergeant Şiclovan Petru, are to go on November 7th 2016 to the Republic of Guineea - Bissau, for a new volunteering mission in order to build a school for the native children.
The two under-officers had already taken part in two such missions between November - December 2015 and in February 2016.
Together with other volunteers from Arad, our colleagues had built houses and bought food for the people in Gabu, one of the main towns of this African country, with a very poor lifesyle.
In this stage of the project, by aid of donations and sponsors, the volunteers will build three schools and try to pay the school taxes for as many children as possible.
In order to complete this humanitarian mission, the transport and visa fees and the necessary vaccines were paid by each member of the team independently. Similarly to the first two such missions, the team is provided counselling and support by the Romanian Embassy in Senegal.
