Firefighters Rescued Three People From a Car Fallen in the Dâmbovița River
The firefighters of „Dealul Spirii” București-Ilfov Inspectorate for Emergency Situations saved on Friday, January 23rd, three people trapped in a car which fell in the Dâmbovița River.
The event happened around 12:30, at Ciurel dam, where a car had breached the guardrails and plummeted in the water from approximately 10 m high. In a matter of minutes, the first firefighter teams reached the place and managed to remove the victims from the badly damaged vehicle, two women and a man, 30-40 years of age.
They had head and limbs injuries, as a result of the impact, being medically aided and then later drove to the Elias Emergency University Hospital, respectively to the Bucharest Emergency University Hospital. The intervention was difficult due to fact that the three people had been trapped in the car which was leaning on one side, one of the victims being partially submerged in the water and in danger of getting hypothermic.
In order to tackle this complex emergency situation, integratedly intervened teams of firefighters, paramedics and divers of the „Dealul Spirii” București-Ilfov Inspectorate for Emergency Situations, aided by the București-Ilfov Ambulance Department and the Road Squad of București.
