300 Ha of Land on Fire

Between March 4-5 2017, in Caraș-Severin were registered several fires of dry vegetation and stubbles. More than 120 military firefighters were deployed for 23 such fires, being affected approx. 300 ha of arable land.

The most affected place was in the area of Carașova locality where approx 200 ha of vegetation burnt down. Due to the difficulty of getting to the land, the fire trucks could not reach the area that was on fire and so the firefighters had to intervene with shovels and swatters.

The intervention was aggravated by the strong wind that increased the rapid spreading of the fires. As of yesterday, around 12.00, until today, at 08.00, our county was marked for code yellow of strong winds.
